New Days file for !Today applet ------------------------------- The 'OEDays' file included in this archive is intended to provide an 'Old English' alternative to the list of Days provided with the existing !Today applet for Ovation Pro. The range of festivals and saints' days was derived from the calendar of Forgotten English 1998, in combination with the previous file. This version contains a higher proportion of saints' days and ancient festivals fewer "strange" festivals, and also has a number of inconsistencies in format (eg spelling and grammatical errors) corrected. In order to use this file, it is necessary to recompile the calendar year file within the !Today applet. Follow these steps: 1) locate the !Today applet on your hard disc and copy the OEDays file inside. 2) At the command line (press F12 or CTRL-F12) change to the !Today directory (for example, on my hard disc I would type *Dir HardDisc4::$.DTP.OvnPro.!OvnPro.Applets.!Today) 3) Use the daymaker utility to recompile the year file. The syntax for this command is *daymaker - so for 1998 you would enter *daymaker 1998 1998 OEDays. 4) The new year file will now automatically be used whenever the !Today applet is invoked from within Ovation Pro. To return to the original file, substitute Days for OEDays in the daymaker command. I hope you find this updated calendar useful. Andy Piper andyp@argonet.co.uk March 1998
