Fibre Optic TX/RX

Started 17th April 2022
Previously (Phase Noise) when I felt the need to use fibre optic cable to transmit data I got some of the TORX 178B and TOTX 179P devices. They're made by Toshiba and compatible with the TOSLINK hardware standard. Looking to buy more (five years later) I could not find them. Since they're in a lot of equipment I thought they must still be around, and the cheapest way of getting some would be to buy something that uses them.

I bought "Digital Audio Cable Optical Digital Audio Splitter 2 In 1 Out Adapter Fiber Converter Digital To Analog Audio Converter", I was expecting to pull it to bits and score some transmitter and receiver electronics, tearing it down I was surprised to find a completely optical solution inside:

Searching again, Ali Express was kinder. These are some devices I found DLR1111, DLT1111, DLR1120, DLT1120, TORX 147, RX147, TOTX 147, TX147, TORX178A, TOTX178A, TOTX-173, TORX 173, TOTX141L, TX179, SC12477, SC12472, TOTX141, DLR2180, DLT1150, DLR 1160.
